How does Fabric handle high-cardinality retail data?
Item-level retail data is high-cardinality. Delta table partitioning by date plus V-Order encoding handle most retail workload sizes. For the largest retailers, materialized aggregations at the gold layer keep dashboard latency manageable.
What are Fabric costs for a mid-market retailer?
Most mid-market retailers land at F32 to F64 ($4,200 to $8,400 per month reserved). Larger retailers with omnichannel data scale to F128 or F256.
Should we migrate from Synapse to Fabric?
Microsoft has signaled the long-term direction is Fabric, and Power BI Premium per Capacity (P-skus) is being deprecated through 2026 in favor of F-skus.
